The Careline Package
All alarm users in Rayleigh will receive a base unit and pendant.
Careline Base Unit
The base unit for our Gateshead service can be installed by the alarm user or a loved one. It simply plugs into the telephone socket and power socket, with the telephone plugging into the back via an adaptor. The base unit allows the monitoring team to speak with the alarm user over a loudspeaker. The alarm user can then respond thanks to a built-in speaker. The red button can be used to raise an alarm call.
Pendant Button
The powerful pendant button is small in size but has plenty of useful features. It can be worn around the neck or wrist, depending on the user's preferences. It is also waterproof for use in the bath or shower, and will work outside in the garden as it has a range of up to 100m. The lightweight pendant includes a red help button, which should be pressed in an emergency. Doing so raises an alarm call.
Fall Detector
Careline's Fall Detector Pendant provides alarm users in Gateshead with even more security. It's worn around the neck and automatically detects a fall - sending an alert message through to the monitoring centre. Confirmation that an alert has been raised will be given by an LED light and vibration.
Like the normal pendant button, the Fall Detector is discreet and stylish. It comes in a shiny white casing and uses a black neck cord - this is arguably even more comfortable to wear than the standard button.
It can also be worn in the bath or shower as it is waterproof. If the alarm user feels unwell or is concerned about their security at home, they can still press the help button on their pendant.

In an emergency situation, the monitoring team will receive an alert message once the alarm user has pressed their pendant button. Within a matter of seconds, a member of the team will respond and speak with the alarm user over the loudspeaker system on their base unit.
The situation is assessed and the team member will arrange for help. This will include calling for family members, friends and neighbours - otherwise known as emergency contacts. If the alarm user requires medical attention, the monitoring team will also call for the emergency services. Any relevant medical information will also be shared with the paramedics.

What is Careline?
The Careline alarm is designed to help older, frail or disabled people remain in their own homes, with the knowledge that they always have somebody to help them in an emergency.
The Careline service includes an alarm base unit, which plugs into the telephone line, and a comfortable pendant which goes around the wrist or neck. All attachments are included in the Careline package.
The Careline alarm can easily be installed and tested by the user. Once the test is complete, the user will be connected to our 24-hour care team.
In an emergency, the alarm user simply presses the red button on their pendant and the monitoring team will respond. The situation is assessed over the base unit's loudspeaker and help if found in the form of emergency contacts and, if needed, the emergency services.
