Careline has been made aware of a recent spate of burglaries across the Suffolk area. In the last few months there have been at least five burglaries across the county, most of them targeting elderly people in their own homes. These burglaries took place in Cavendish, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Ipswich and Tattingstone. Worryingly, these crimes often involve serious violence. There have been reports this week that elderly residents in York are being targeted by bogus tradesmen. This is a huge concern and we would like to give you some advice to ensure that you are not tricked by these men into passing any personal details over. The report said that these 'dodgy' tradesmen have been knocking on the doors of the elderly and are trying to claim money for roof repairs. One incident even saw a man force his way into an 86-year-old woman's home to tell her that she needed £250 worth of repairs and that she could claim the money back from her landlord. The …

We at Careline would like to inform Bolton residents of the news from The Bolton News that fake police officers are targeting the elderly. The fraud police seem to be targeting residents of Radcliffe specifically, but it's best to be cautious regardless. Officers on the GMP Radcliffe Twitter page put out a warning and advised that people should always check to see ID cards of anyone claiming to be from law enforcement.
