The Careline Alarm Package

Lifeline Vi Alarm
The Careline service in Colchester uses the Lifeline Vi Alarm unit. This small box is simply plugged into the existing telephone socket and power socket. The Lifeline Vi has a loudspeaker and microphone so that our customers can communicate with our monitoring team. The Lifeline Vi Alarm also has a 40-hour back-up battery which kicks in once a power cut strikes. This means that our alarm wearers are still monitored when the power is out - adding even more protection.
MyAmie Pendant
The second part of the Careline service is the MyAmie Pendant. This sleek and comfortable device goes around the wrist or neck, depending on the preference of the alarm user. It is waterproof for use in the bathroom and can be used outside in the garden - up to 100m. In an emergency, our alarm users simply need to press the red button on the MyAmie. This sends an alert through to the monitoring team, who will reply instantly over the base unit loud speaker.

What is Careline?
The Careline alarm is designed to help older, frail or disabled people remain in their own homes, with the knowledge that they always have somebody to help them in an emergency.
The Careline service includes an alarm base unit, which plugs into the telephone line, and a comfortable pendant which goes around the wrist or neck. All attachments are included in the Careline package.
The Careline alarm can easily be installed and tested by the user. Once the test is complete, the user will be connected to our 24-hour care team.
In an emergency, the alarm user simply presses the red button on their pendant and the monitoring team will respond. The situation is assessed over the base unit's loudspeaker and help if found in the form of emergency contacts and, if needed, the emergency services.
