Key Safes

A key safe is small but very strong and waterproof box which can be mounted on the outside of your house.

Your door keys are securely held inside because the lid to the key safe is locked by a security code or number. The keys can then be accessed by a carer, family member, or even the emergency services as long as they have the correct access code.

The key safe box is securely attached to a brick wall with long screws which are accessed only from within the safe itself, making it nearly impossible to detach from the wall.

The benefits of a Key Safe

The advantage of a key safe is that you don’t need to make several copies of your keys to give to relatives and carers, and should your care provider need to send a different member of staff to your property then they too can access your front door.

Also if your care requirements change and you need to move to a new care provider, the code can simply be changed and there is no risk of the keys to your house falling into the wrong hands. #

Which Key Safe should I choose?

There are three key safe boxes to choose from at Careline365 depending on your preferences.

We have the Supra C500, which is one of only two police approved key safes in the country. This safe is the most secure one available on the market today and is resistant to an attack as your domestic front door.

The C500 has a sturdy zinc alloy outer shell, is water and rust resistant, and also has a 12-digit key pad that gives you an astonishing 479,001,600 possible combinations.

The C500 is available for £88, which is a great price for such a brilliant security device.

Yale Y500

We also offer the Yale Y500 Key Safe Box. Developed by well-known security manufacturers Yale, you can be sure that the device has been created with a great knowledge of the market.

The Y500 has a four-digit rolling combination and is cheaper than the Supra at £42 but still offers reliable security for your home. The key safe is wall-mountable and is the perfect key safe for someone who values safety but doesn't need the complete security of the Supra C500.

Master Lock Select Access

Our cheapest option is the MasterLock Select Access Key Safe. This key safe can store up to five keys and features a weather resistant shutter door to protect combination dials from rust, dirt and grime.

Like the Yale there is a four-digit rolling combination option with a weather resistant zinc outer shell for durability. You can purchase this key safe today for the small price of £29.

We recommend wall mounting our key safes to the exterior of your property in an easy to access location. In the case of an emergency alarm activation, the key safe code can be used by friends, family or the emergency services to access the property quickly and easily and without causing any damage.

What is Careline?

The Careline alarm is designed to help older, frail or disabled people remain in their own homes, with the knowledge that they always have somebody to help them in an emergency. The Piper Alarm service includes an alarm base unit, which plugs into the telephone line, and a comfortable pendant which goes around the wrist or neck. All attachments are included in the Careline package. The Careline alarm can easily be installed and tested by the user. Once the test is complete, the user will be connected to our 24-hour care team. In an emergency, the alarm user simply presses the red button on their pendant and the Care Team will respond. The situation is assessed over the base unit's loudspeaker and help if found in the form of emergency contacts and, if needed, the emergency services.

24-Hour Care and Support

Our highly-trained Care Team play an important part of the Piper Alarm service. The team have been trained to deal with a number of emergency situations, so that they can reassure and advise in the best way possible. Our Care Team are available 24/7, 365 days a year to ensure our alarm users can always call for help.

When they receive an alert call, a member of the team will dial through to the alarm user through their base unit loudspeaker. They will ask the user what has happened and if they're ok, before calling for help.

They will call for emergency contacts - friends, family and neighbours - and ask them to attend urgently. The emergency services will also be contacted if they are required.

Emergency Contacts

We reccommend that all alarm users have at least one emergency contact on their Careline profile, if possible. If you don't think you're able to list an emergency contact on your loved ones new Piper Alarm, we advise having a Key Safe in place which can be bought online at the same time as the alarm.

The pendant which accompanies the Careline alarm's base unit has some useful features:

It's lightweight, comfortable and discreet.
It can be worn around the wrist or neck.
