The SOS Alarm Watch allows the elderly, vulnerable and disabled to continue living in their home. Our service provides support every single day of the year, with minimal intrusion. The alarm watch connects the wearer to our highly-trained monitoring team. The team are available all day, everyday. The SOS Alarm Watch connects to the alarm's base unit box, which includes a loudspeaker for the monitoring team to speak through. The alarm user can respond via a built-in microphone. The SOS Alarm Watch

The SOS Alarm Watch goes around the wrist using a wrist strap, provided alongside the alarm system. It's an oval design with a red help button on the face. This help button is a third larger than the previous model. The alarm watch is comfortable, sleek and secure. It only weighs seven grams and can be hidden under the user's sleeve rather easily.

Features

The SOS Alarm Watch is waterproof. This means that the wearer can raise an alarm if they slip whilst getting in/out of the bath or shower. It will also work outside in the garden, thanks to a range of up to 100 metres. Finally, the alarm watch has a battery life of seven years. The monitoring team are alerted to a low battery, and a replacement is sent.

The Alarm Base Unit

Alongside their alarm watch, our customers also receive the Careline base unit. This device simply plugs into the mains power and telephone socket. The alarm user's telephone is then plugged into the back using an adaptor.

The base unit acts as a communication hub between alarm user and monitoring team. It features a loudspeaker for the monitoring team to speak through, and a microphone for the user to respond.

It also has a 40-hour back-up battery which will boot-up during a power cut. Once power it restored, the battery will begin recharging.

Emergency Contacts

All alarm users will need to have at least one emergency contact on their Careline profile.

Using the SOS Alarm Watch

Using our alarm is quick and simple. If the user feels unwell, is concerned for their well-being, or has a fall, they simply press the red help button on their SOS alarm watch.

This sends an alarm call through to the monitoring team. A team member will respond via the base unit within a few seconds.

They'll ask the alarm user what has happened and assess the situation.

They'll then begin contacting loved ones who have been selected by the alarm user to act as their emergency contacts.

The monitoring team will inform them of the situation and ask them to attend urgently. If the alarm user requires medical attention, the emergency services will also be contacted by the monitoring team.

What is Careline?

The Careline alarm is designed to help older, frail or disabled people remain in their own homes, with the knowledge that they always have somebody to help them in an emergency. The Piper Alarm service includes an alarm base unit, which plugs into the telephone line, and a comfortable pendant which goes around the wrist or neck. All attachments are included in the Careline package. The Careline alarm can easily be installed and tested by the user. Once the test is complete, the user will be connected to our 24-hour care team. In an emergency, the alarm user simply presses the red button on their pendant and the Care Team will respond. The situation is assessed over the base unit's loudspeaker and help if found in the form of emergency contacts and, if needed, the emergency services.

24-Hour Care and Support

Our highly-trained Care Team play an important part of the Piper Alarm service. The team have been trained to deal with a number of emergency situations, so that they can reassure and advise in the best way possible. Our Care Team are available 24/7, 365 days a year to ensure our alarm users can always call for help.

When they receive an alert call, a member of the team will dial through to the alarm user through their base unit loudspeaker. They will ask the user what has happened and if they're ok, before calling for help.

They will call for emergency contacts - friends, family and neighbours - and ask them to attend urgently. The emergency services will also be contacted if they are required.

Emergency Contacts

We reccommend that all alarm users have at least one emergency contact on their Careline profile, if possible. If you don't think you're able to list an emergency contact on your loved ones new Piper Alarm, we advise having a Key Safe in place which can be bought online at the same time as the alarm.
