The pendant call button is small, discreet and stylish. It's manufactured with the latest in Telecare technology and has been designed with comfort in mind. The device comes with multiple wearing attachments, and is primary worn around the wrist or neck. The pendant is an oval shape, with a white finish around the red help button.
Features of the Pendant Call Button
The pendant call button is waterproof. This allows our alarm users to raise an alarm if they slip or fall in the bath/shower. Its long range also allows users to call for help if they trip outside in the garden. There is no need to worry about recharging the pendant either, the device has a seven-year battery life. A free replacement is sent before the old battery runs flat.
How does the service work?
In an emergency, all the user needs to do is press the button on their pendant. This sends an alarm call through to our 24-hour monitoring team. A member of the team, who work 365 days a year, will respond via the loudspeaker on the alarm's base unit.
The monitoring team member will ask the user what has happened and whether or not they're injured. Once the situation has been assessed, the monitoring team will begin calling the user's emergency contacts - family, friends and neighbours.
If your loved one requires medical attention the emergency services will also be contacted. Any relevant medical details will be passed on.

All alarm users will need to have at least one emergency contact on their Careline profile.
Careline Alarm Base Unit
Alongside the pendant call button, all of our customers also receive the alarm base unit. This box can be installed by the user, or a relative, within a few minutes, and is pre-programmed by our team.
All that is required during the set-up is to plug the base unit into the mains power and telephone socket. The telephone is then plugged into the unit using the adaptor provided. Next, press the red button to complete a test call with the monitoring team.
The alarm base unit has a loudspeaker which is used by the monitoring team to communicate with the user. Your loved one can then respond using the built-in microphone. Like the pendant call button, the user can also raise an alarm on the base unit - by pressing the red help button.

What is Careline?
The Careline alarm is designed to help older, frail or disabled people remain in their own homes, with the knowledge that they always have somebody to help them in an emergency. The Piper Alarm service includes an alarm base unit, which plugs into the telephone line, and a comfortable pendant which goes around the wrist or neck. All attachments are included in the Careline package. The Careline alarm can easily be installed and tested by the user. Once the test is complete, the user will be connected to our 24-hour care team. In an emergency, the alarm user simply presses the red button on their pendant and the Care Team will respond. The situation is assessed over the base unit's loudspeaker and help if found in the form of emergency contacts and, if needed, the emergency services.
24-Hour Care and Support
Our highly-trained Care Team play an important part of the Piper Alarm service. The team have been trained to deal with a number of emergency situations, so that they can reassure and advise in the best way possible. Our Care Team are available 24/7, 365 days a year to ensure our alarm users can always call for help.
When they receive an alert call, a member of the team will dial through to the alarm user through their base unit loudspeaker. They will ask the user what has happened and if they're ok, before calling for help.
They will call for emergency contacts - friends, family and neighbours - and ask them to attend urgently. The emergency services will also be contacted if they are required.
Emergency Contacts
We reccommend that all alarm users have at least one emergency contact on their Careline profile, if possible. If you don't think you're able to list an emergency contact on your loved ones new Piper Alarm, we advise having a Key Safe in place which can be bought online at the same time as the alarm.
